Solution

Java
is developed and maintained by Oracle. It is an OOP programming language. With java you can create applets and other executable standalone applications that can run on a server, a virtual computer or in a browser. Java needs compilation. It is a true, server-side programming language. To run Java programs in a browser, the Java Runtime Engine (JRE) must be installed on the computer. Server-side Java is not supported on Bitpalace web space accounts. For example, you cannot develop and compile Java applets on the server. But you can offer compiled Java applets for download on your homepage, that can be run from a browser.

JavaScript
was developed by the web browser pioneer Netscape and is an OOP scripting language. It is not part of the Java platform. JavaScript integrates with HTML documents (web pages) and enables interactivity on websites. JavaScript does not need server-side software, is not compiled, but simply downloaded with a website into the browser and interpreted and executed by the web browser. The functions necessary for that are built into web browsers. For example, JavaScript is used for checking user input in website forms or for controlling image effects on a page. Almost no website does without JavaScript. JavaScript can be used with Bitpalace web space accounts without limitations.
