Goal
The client wanted to complete his open web interface to Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision Financials), with the final product allowing Navision users to display simply formatted Navision data in a web browser and edit feedback directly online in the Navision database, using a Navision logic.
Each initial visit to the website and each click on a link or switch was supposed to send a pre-determined command to Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision Financials). Navision extracts the necessary data and sends back a data and command sequence to the script. The script, in turn, was supposed to format the received data and display it in a clearly understandable way. From instructions contained in the data stream, explaining which follow-up functions are possible, the script was supposed to create suitable switches, selectable buttons and similar control elements. Everything was supposed to communicate within this closed loop system. The script was to work on the basis of PHP standard commands, making it usable on any common web server.

Implementation
The client and worked jointly in clarifying details during the implementation phase, resulting in a web interface that can be universally utilized and freely formatted by Navision Financials users, without worrying about technical details. The interface answers questions from the Navision database, such as "Who are the clients within a 30 km radius from zip code 34123?", "Which items are below minimum stock?" or "Daily sales broken down by representatives?". There is no direct connection between the web session and the database server. All inquiries are routed through a Navision logic, thereby protecting inquiries against modification, such as SQL injection.
The interface developed by represents one item of a service and software package for the client. Navisions users can purchase it from our client.
